Summer Look

Was feeling pretty bored tonight. Instead of watching back-2-back episodes of Criminal Minds.. i decided to do a summer look makeup. I love summer looks. It suits my skin tone and i love the "tan-bronze" effect.

For the face/base, i used :

- Skinfood Peach Sake Toner

- Skinfood Peach Pore Serum

- Skinfood Peach Sake Emulsion

- MAC Prep+Prime Skim Enhancer Illuminateur

- Etude House BB Magic Cream SPF 30/PA++

- Bodyshop Flawless Skin Protecting Foundation

- Bodyshop Loose Powder

For the eyes, i used :

- MAC Retrospeck

- Coastal Scents Shimmer 88pcs eyeshadow

- Bodyshop Kohl Eyeliner

- Bodyshop Divide & Multiply Mascara

For the cheeks, i used :

- Bodyshop Brush On Buff

- Bodyshop Brush On Bronze

- Bodyshop Trio Shade : Warm Sunset

It really look like a lot of products but in the end the finish is not "thick". Love this summer look so must cam-whore a bit. Makeup, hair-stylist and "photo shot" taken by my sis, Ansurah Wongraven

Oh yeah... oh the side note.. please ignore my unsightly protruding eyebags and dark circles. i know its dégueulasse. pardon me for that. my sis forgot to put some concealer on me just now. :P

OPI Soft Shades 2010

Saw a beauty shop at Central selling this for $16.80 per bottle. Living in SG sucks cos OPI is not readily available here. Even if its available, the nail salons sell them between $25-$30! That's freaking expensive. And there are some blogshops selling them ranging from $11-$15. However, most of them are via mail. I'm a bit skeptical on that; worrying if the bottle will break or not. I envy those living in the states where you can get it for soooo cheap! At the rate I'm going, I guess I'll just buy from the shop instead. At least i feel safer.

Anyhow...I'm torn between the colors.. I love the 1st and 3rd ones... urgggghhh... spoilt for choices... which should i get?

Etude House Collagen Sheet Mask

Collagen Sheet Mask

Price : S$2.90

Content : 1 piece

Results :

I usually put my mask in the fridge for about 15mins before putting them on. I left this mask on for about 20mins or so.This mask hardly has any scent apart from some slight powdery and citrus-y, this sheet mask is pretty mild. After about 20-30mins of using this, there was an instant "moisturizing" to my skin. The effect is visible on 1 usage. This mask actually helps to supply moisture and collagen to dry and worn-out skin. So on days that your skin feels dry and tired, do try this sheet mask out. Like other masks, I believe prolong usage of this product will show more results. Definitely a great buy! As mention earlier, sheet masks are pretty mild, so everyday usage is alright.

Etude House Pearl Extract Sheet Mask

Pearl Extract Sheet Mask

Price : S$2.50

Content : 1 piece

Results :

I usually put my mask in the fridge for about 15mins before putting them on. I left this mask on for about 20mins or so. This mask has a very mild powdery scent. It's barely noticeable. After about 20-30mins of using this, my skin felt smoother and brighter! The effect is visible on 1 usage. This mask actually helps to even out skin tone and make your face feels smoother. Though I've not seen the result to that extend of "WOW, this is great", I think 1 usage of this kind of got to me. I believe prolong usage of this product will show such results. Definitely a great buy! As I've mention earlier, sheet masks are actually mild. So everyday usage is alright.

Purple Nails For The Mid Week

I finally painted my nails this week. Notice how short my nails are? I had to file and shape them really short so that they are pretty even. I painted purple this time round. My first time using this color. It's pretty sheer but build-able. Gonna enjoy this set for the week!

Etude House Lemon Sheet Mask

Lemon Sheet Mask

Price : S$2.50

Content : 1 piece

Results :

I usually put my mask in the fridge for about 15mins before putting them on. I left this mask on for about 20mins or so. The mask has a very subtle lemon scent. The scent is not overpowering so you won't actually notice the smell. After about 20mins of using this, there was an instant "brightening" to my skin. It felt smooth as though i just step out of a beauty salon! The effect is visible on 1 usage. This mask actually helps to lightens scars and even out skin tone. Though I've not seen the result to that extend, I can't say much of that factor. I believe prolong usage of this product will show such results. Definitely a great buy! You can actually use this mask about 2-3 times a week? Sheet masks are actually mild. So everyday usage is alright.

Skin Food Peach Sake Pore Sebum Range

Everyone yearns for flawless complexion and I'm one of them. Remember how you used to go "wow" each time you turn the pages of some beauty magazines and thought to yourself how you wished you had perfect flawless skin? I did. I have oily/combination skin and there's never a time i didn't wish that i have better skin.

As some of you may know this, you'll realize that your skin changes almost everyday. Yes, it does. You might not realize this but if you do keep some sort of a video/picture diary of your skin, you'll notice it. I didn't realize it in the first place. As time goes by, i wonder why my pimple scars is darker and why i have some white heads on my nose. And it all shows when you look real closely at your skin.

I was so shocked in the beginning! From then on, i kept changing my facials, trial and error kinda thing. To see which suits me the best. You see, my skin is pretty complicated. Its oil/combination. My t-zone is oily, whereas my cheeks are normal and my chin is very dry! Talk about complicated! If i go for oily facial care, my chin will get even drier. If i go for dry facial care, my t-zone will be very oily and its worst if I'm using for the normal skin type! Can you imagine the amount of stress to find the suitable skin care range for my skin?!

I came across this range from some blog reviews and boy i was sold! I purchased the highly raved products.

Peach Sake Pore Serum

Price : S$37.00

Size : 45ml

Pros :

This is my fave product of the range. I love this!! It is light-weight and turns "powdery" once you applied it to the skin. I notice that it "minimizes" the look of my large pores. It doesn't feel sticky. In fact,it feels almost like you have good skin. This is a must-have product for me!

Cons :

Well, apart from the small size of the bottle, i feel that this product is great.

Peach Sake Toner

Price : S$33.00

Size : 135ml

Pros :

This toner is pretty mild. It doesn't sting me and my skin feels fresh after using this. It removes the excess makeup residue leaving my face very clean and dirt-free.

Cons :

None. (I'm pretty satisfied with this product)

Peach Sake Emulsion

Price : S$33.00

Size : 135ml

Pros :

This product is more water-based. It seeps into my skin pretty fast and i can actually feel the "water droplets" on my skin when i apply it. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and matte.

Cons :

It takes a little while to absorb onto my skin on very hot days.

Peach Sake Pore Essence Mask Sheet

Prize : S$8.00

Content : 8g

I tried this mask a while ago. I left it in the fridge for about 15mins before putting it on. I love the cool tingling sensation when i put on this mask sheet. I left it on for about 15-20mins. I noticed that there was an instant "brightening"of my skin. And my skin felt smoother. There was a hint of glow on my cheeks area. I believe prolong use might have better results.

*All Photos taken from Google Search.

The above are the 4 products that I've tried from the Peach Sake Pore Sebum Range. I've used the 3 products for above 3 months now and I'm happy with the results. I am pretty sure i will purchase this products again next month cos they are finishing up now. I'm actually very surprised that my skin is still reacting well to this products cos normally after about 3months or so usage of some products, my skin sort of "rejects" the products. But in this case, it didn't. *smiles* The only thing they don't have in this range is a facial wash. Otherwise, it'll be a complete set.

Other products from these range that I've yet to try :

Peach Sake Sun Lotion SPF 32 PA++

Peach Sake Perfect Concealer

Peach Sake T-Zone Block Gel

Peach Sake Silky Finish Powder

Peach Sake Pore BB Cream (not available in SG)

Current Obsessions With Nail Polishes

I love manicured nails. and i love to change my nail colors every week but its pretty expensive to do so. A simple classic manicure ranges from $24-$30 depending on which nail salon you go to. and they charge additional $1 for each nail art design and another $1 for rhinestones etc... in total that will be a freaking $44-$50 for each time. imagine going every week...let your maths do the calculation..its almost a freaking $200!

As much as i love to change my nail colors, that amount is a huge no-no. I've never been the type to paint my nails neatly and without smudges. and i really envy others who could self-paint theirs very well. So i guess, its high time I buck up and start painting my own nails.

I spent some time, "researching" on ways to paint my nails, from the basic of shaping my nails, to removing cuticles, etc...

Most of these videos requires some tools and products which i didn't have in hand. So my sis and I made a trip down to Raffles city to get some nail polishes from The Face Shop. We got some tools like cuticle cutter, orange woodsticks, nail buffer,etc... we managed to find the exact same cuticle remover that we saw on one of the videos. It was highly raved. It's Sally Hansen Cuticle Remover and it cost about S$12-13 for that small bottle. But i guess it'll last pretty long since you only need to remove your cuticles every other week or so?

Anyway, here's a my current nail polish collection. I have not found a proper storage for them. So i simply put them in an empty shoe box.

In case you're wondering, nope i don't store my nail polishes that way. it was just for illustration purpose. See that blue bottle? That's the Sally Hansen's Cuticle Remover. It's really really good.

Once we've got all the necessary tools, we start with the basic steps of filing, shaping, buffing, followed by cuticle remover. and oh boy! it took us almost 2 hours just to get them done! but time was worth spent as our nails look healthier and nicely shaped.

Please pardon my unsightly wrinkly fingers and bad photo quality. This was taken with a camera phone.

I painted French for my sis. My first attempt at French Manicure and I'd say.. pretty good job eh?

Currently my nails are bare. Most of my nails are chipped. *sigh* each time my nail grows longer, they chipped easily. I should really invest in a good nail strengthener if i want to have nice long nails for french manicure.

We've made it a habit to paint our nails often. It's like a weekly affair for us. I cant wait to paint my nails tonight!
